Cabaret Opens on Broadway

The revival of Cabaret opened at Studio 54 last week, with festival artistic director Patrick Vaccariello as music director. (Read The New York Times review HERE.) To give festival guests a taste of Broadway, Mr. Vaccariello is producing a concert celebrating the legendary songwriting team Kander and Ebb, the composers of Cabaret. John Kander has selected the songs for the production.

The festival production, Come to the Cabaret! A Celebration of Kander & Ebb, will take place Saturday, July 26, at 7:30pm at Pocono Mountain East High School. Anderson Twins, Barbara Andres Receive Drama Desk Nominations

We're pleased to announce that Peter and Will Anderson, performers at the Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival, and Barbara Andres, festival artistic board member, were nominated for Drama Desk Awards.

Peter and Will Anderson's show, Le Jazz Hot: How the French Saved Jazz, was nominated in the Outstanding Revue category. The show ran in December 2013 at 59E59 Theaters. If you missed the show in December, you can catch it at the Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival this summer.  The Peter and Will Anderson Sextet will perform Le Jazz Hot at the Jazz Brunch on Sunday, July 27, at 11:00am at Skytop Lodge. Barbara Andres was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Play for her portrayal of "Mama" in the revival of I Remember Mama. Ms. Andres received a rave review in The New York Times last month. (Read our blog post HERE).

Barbara Andres Garners Rave Review for "I Remember Mama"

Congratulations to festival artistic board member Barbara Andres for her rave review in The New York Times yesterday. Ms. Andres portrays the role of "Mama" in a revival of I Remember Mama, which opened yesterday at the Gym at Judson in Greenwich Village. In his review of the show, Times theater critic Ben Brantley says, "...the wonderful Barbara Andres (who is nigh perfect in the title role of the family matriarch..." The show also stars Barbara Barrie and Rita Gardner.

Come to the Cabaret!

Our esteemed artistic director Patrick Vaccariello is bringing the excitement of Broadway to the Buck Hill Skytop Music Festival this summer. Mr. Vaccariello is preparing a tribute to the legendary songwriting team of Kander and Ebb, starring performers and musicians from the Broadway stage and featuring the festival's student chorus.

Mr. Vaccariello is music director for the highly anticipated revival of Kander and Ebb's Cabaret, which opens at Studio 54 on April 24. The show stars Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams in her Broadway debut as nightclub entertainer Sally Bowles and Alan Cumming reprising his Tony Award-winning role as the Emcee. The show is currently in previews.
